Hola Tangueras and Tangueros

The rains have come and it’s good to be able to dance tango indoors where we can stay warm and dry.  And yes there’s lots happening right here in Vancouver.

  • Gabriela Rojo has invited Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo for workshops and a Gala November 14 – 16
  • Marco de Lorenzo from Buenos Aires is visiting Vancouver for a month starting October 14 and will be available for private classes and maybe some group classes.  Nicola is arranging bookings

Romulo Larrea is a bandoneon player who lives in Montreal, I think, and he is coming to give concerts here.  His trio will play in Maple Ridge on Sunday October 19 complete with dancers from Montreal and a special guest appearance by Santiago and Deborah.  The trio will appear again at the Kay Meek Theatre in West Vancouver on Tuesday October 21, though I don’t think the dancers will join them for that performance.

Rebecca Niemier has invited Oscar and Georgina Mandagaran to give workshops this weekend in Bellingham Oct 3 – 7.  Full program on Rebecca’s Facebook page or email Rebecca at

The Portland October Tangofest is fast approaching Oct 9 – 13

And the dates for Portland’s Valentango will be Feb 18 – 23, 2015

In Seattle, Kristina is inviting Virginia Pandolfi to give a Tango Technique Intensive workshop Oct 18 – 19

And Tony and Ilana are inviting Maximiano Cristiani and Jesica Arfenoni  (2013 – World Champions Salon Category ) Oct 23 – 26

This Saturday in Seattle Oct 4 Tony and Ilana are hosting the Premiere of a special tango documentary film For the Love of Tango. Check out the story line

And here is a trailer for another tango movie Leyendas del Tango Danza – Legends of Tango – showing some of the great milongueros and dance salons of Buenos Aires.   Let’s hope the Vancouver Film Festival picks this one up next year!

May you dance again some beautiful tangos,
Claude and Hazel
